Title:   String Course Block

Description:   Apparently from a string course above orthostates. Dressed smooth for joint with stone on under side; rough-picked on top, perhaps to carry brick. One face is smooth-dressed, the other lightly stippled and edged with a smooth band. Near one end of this face a 'lifting boss'. Well worked anathyrosis.
Bluish white marble.
Notes:   Not found 1962. Not found 2016.
Context:   Found in construction filling of Square Building, behind Stoa Shop XVI from south. It had apparently been reused in the foundation of the propylon at the N.E. entrance of the Predecessor to the Square Building.
