Large Jug.

Over half of foot and underside and most of body restored; profile reconstructed rather than preserved.

Low, flaring ring foot; flat resting surface; convex underside.

Nearly spherical body. Ridge at base of short, wide, tubular neck.

Molded rim, concave to inside. Broad, triple-grooved strap handle flanked by pellets at upper attachment. Hard, light brown fabric (7.5YR 6/4) with little mica and many small dark inclusions; shiny, reddish yellow slip (7.5YR 8/6), mostly missing.

P 4320 (mouth fragment), from mixed Hellenistic and Roman fill at F 14 (lot Γ 140), is closely similar in shape but of different fabric (very micaceous, light red fabric [2.5YR 6/6] and shiny, white slip). Similar rim but smaller: 1546.
