Kantharos: Corinthian Or Boiotian?
Intact.
Small molded foot; beveled resting surface; concave underside. Low stem. Deep, convex lower body; straight upper body, inclined. Plain rim. Vertical strap handles from belly to below rim. Soft, fine, micaceous, pink fabric (7.5YR 7/4) with orange and red inclusions and many voids; mottled glaze, thin and orange to brown outside, brown inside; part of foot, underside, and resting surface reserved; finger marks on lower body.
Similar in shape to the Hexamilia kantharoi of Corinth (Corinth VII, iii, nos. 515--521, pp. 86--87, pls. 16, 54; Pemberton 1985, pp. 282--283, pl. 79) but with a molded foot. Possibly a hybrid such as ibid., no. 49, p. 302, pl. 79. Cf. also Arapogianni 1990, Tomb V, no. 12479, p. 98, fig. 14, pl. 34:γ (Boiotian).
