Description: | Rim fragment from a krater. Buff clay. Glazed decoration: dashes on rim, heavy band about top of body and traces of wavy lines below. ADDENDA 2018: Single sherd to a very large krater with horizontal, flat rim. The exterior decoration consists of a medium rim band and a unidentified motif in the handle zone (possibly the fill of a running spiral? Cp. Schimatari). There is the trace of a horizontal, round-section handle. The interior has a wide rim band and a medium band running below the rim. The flat surface of the rim is reserved and there are occasional bars. The paint is thick and fairly evenly applied, fired brown to dark brown. Furumark Shape: 282 | |
