Title:   Krater Fragment: Patterned
Category:   Pottery
Description:   Fragment of a crater.
Buff with black glaze, raised surface below rim.
ADDENDA 2018: Four sherds mended into a single fragment of a very large krater with horizontal flat rim and two plastic bands with incised decoration on the exterior. No other features are preserved.
The exterior decoration consists of a lip band, a solid band convering the plastic decoration, and a medium band running below the plastic decoration. The handle zone is panelled with part of a side triglyph with vertical zigzag preserved. There is also part of an unidentified curvilinear motif.
The interior has a painted lip and a medium band running below the rim. The paint is thick and evenly applied, fired black where preserved. There are a few knicks on the edge of the rim caused by a sharp edge, but it is unclear if these are ancient. There are no traces of burning.
