Title:   Lid Fragment: Linear

Description:   From a vase lid (pyxis perhaps). Small hole in centre. Red - black on buff. Concentric band in interior.
ADDENDA 2018: Two joining sherds to a convex lid with slightly incurving walls. In the center of the cap there is a cental hole, 0.0054 m in diameter.
The exterior decoration consists of three narrow bands around the central perforation and three medium bands on the cap at the junction with the wall. There are traces of two more medium bands on the exterior wall.
On the interior there is a medium band just below the junction of the wall and the cap. The paint is thick, badly flaked in places, and unevenly fired pale to dark brown. There are no obvious traces of use-wear or burning.
