Agora Object: H 169
Inventory Number:   H 169
Title:   Fragment from the Upper Body with Graffito
Description:   Letters shallowly incised with a blunt point, left to right. -ΠΤΡΕΟ-
The demotic [Λαμ]πτρέο[ς] is suggested by the preserved letters, although this would seem unlikely before the time of Kleisthenes. But if the deme Lamptrai did not exist at the time of this dedication, the district or town surely did. If not a toponymic, the letters are probably part of a personal name.
Grayish to brown clay.
Context:   Votive dump.
