Description:   Inscribed altar of Zeus.
Broken at top and base moulding much chipped.
The bottom reused as a threshold.
The right side batters more than the left.
Two lines of the inscription preserved; the upper chipped at the top.
Hymettian marble.
ADDENDA 30 January 1967: The fragment I 4825 joins nicely on top of the altar I 1797 and gives the first line of the inscription on the other long side. The surface of the lower part of this side is badly damaged and the inscription has been obliterated. The fragment I 4825 preserves part of the top.
Context:   Found in the wall of the modern house D, west of the Odeion.
