Title: | Black Figure Lekythos Fragment
Category: | Pottery | |
Description: | Mended from three fragments; height preserved from shoulder to point of attachment to base; about three-quarters of the wall missing and most of the shoulder. Next to the break, at the left, is the figure of a youth, standing right, with a cloak wrapped over his left arm and a spear held in his right hand. Sketchy incision for interior details; no accessory color preserved but two narrow bands just below the reserved area show dull against the glossy black glaze (red?). On the shoulder are preserved the tips of three leaves belonging to an ivy pattern. Joins P 1297.
