Description: | About one-half of rim and body preserved with one handle but none of the base. Squat sharp-shouldered body; plain low vertical rim; short vertical ribbon handle, lip to just below rim. Gritty brown clay, gray core; red burnished slip, partly mottled in firing. ADDENDA Good striped burnishing on shoulder in pattern with panels of opposed diagonals framed by verticals and with five or more horizontal bands below. Lower part apparently plain burnished (SAI Aug. 1961). | |
