Agora Object: P 14438
Inventory Number:   P 14438
Section Number:   Χ 995
Title:   Amphoriskos
Category:   Pottery
Description:   All of bottom, part of rim and of one handle, and few scattered pieces, missing. Tall neck with rolled rim; handles from below rim to middle of shoulder; ovoid body; lowest preserved pieces show slight straightening of curve of side, as though approaching bottom.
Soft buff clay. Lighter slip, perhaps originally white ground.
Near the bottom of pot as now preserved, there is a neat cutting which suggests that part of foot was perhaps made in separate piece. Note, however, that one piece carries down below this line, and the piece that joins it on its left shows no traces of neat cutting.
Small piece (b) that joins the cutting at right has been left unglued.
