Description: | Three joining fragments preserve part of wall, from edge of medallion to rim. Restored in plaster. Around medallion, beaded ring from which springs a circle of palmette-like leaves; Erotes between their tips. Above, a nude bearded figure standing, facing, looking left, is supported from the right by another smaller, and embraced by a draped female figure(?) standing at the left. To either side of this scene, prancing griffins; birds in the field. Upper border, double band of egg pattern, the upper row inverted. Dull black glaze, metallic inside. | |
