Description: | Mouth and neck missing. General type as P 24316 (ΣΑ 2526): This is the characteristic general type for the large proportion of the lekythoi from this group. Bell mouth with variations in height and spread; lip usually reserved, occasionally glazed. Disk foot of varying thickness; below picture either one or two reserved lines. Added colors more or less well preserved. Only substantial variations are noted in the following descriptions. Shoulder: strokes above rays. Scene: Herakles right, striking the lion with the club; on each side, a woman running away; bow, arrow and garments hanging in field. Same hand as P 24499 (ΣΑ 2709). | |
