Description: | Mended from numerous fragments and completely restored. Base, one handle, part of other and less than half of rim and wall missing. Bell-shaped body; flaring rim; horizontal handles. Black glaze inside with two reserved bands; wreath around rim; maeander band below figures; palmettes under handles; tongue pattern at junction of handles with body. A) Woman standing left wearing peplos and spotted kerchief, round earrings, holding large phiale in right hand; youth standing right facing her, wearing chlamys clasped with round brooch, sword, ptasos hanging behind neck, high laced boots; behind him draped woman standing right holding phiale in right hand. B) Two youths standing left and one standing right facing them; all wrapped in heavy cloaks pulled over their heads; central youth leans on staff. No incision, no relief contour. Pink clay. | |
