Title:   Red Figure Oinochoe

Description:   Mouth, top of neck, top of handle and body fragments missing. Broad flaring ring foot, unglazed underneath at resting surface; traces of two circles of miltos inside foot. Vertical handle, oval in section. On the body: a panel formed by a line of tongue pattern above and below, joined by reserved vertical lines at either end; within panel, two nude male figures: at left, figure is running right, left leg foremost. He carries torch in his left hand; torch flames done in added white; around his head is a fillet, also in added white. At right, a second figure, left leg forward, turning back and reaching for the torch with his right hand; he looks back over his shoulder, poised to run; on his head, a fillet in added white.
Good black glaze, mottled white in places.
Context:   Lowest floor of room 4 of Classical House D.
