Description: | Mended, about three-quarters preserved. Torus disk foot, rising within. Two scraped grooves at juncture of foot and stem. Reserved: center of underside, resting surface, face of foot, inside of handles and handle panels. Decoration within: Tondo of reserved line, with owl and tendrils within. Owl stands right, spotted except for wing feathers. Simple tendrils on either side. Ghost image of curving leaves and letters discernable to right of owl: D. von Bothmer (August 1995): Sabouroff Painter, ca. 490 B.C. Cf. Agora XII, no. 420, ca. 500-480 B.C. | |
