Description:   Three non-joining pieces. Below, a panel with human figures; above, part of a frieze of birds? Glazed inside around the top only.
Pinkish-buff clay; the glaze black to brown.
Late Geometric.
ADDENDA Mr. Vlastos has a large fragment from a large pot certainly by the same hand. The heads belong to winged sphinxes with horses' bodies. (The bottom of the dress, on our fragment, thus belongs to the upper register.) Found in Anavissos. Added white on head and wing of sphinxes; and incision on mane and rump, on the Vlastos piece. He dates in late 8th. c. "sub-Geometric".
