Inventory Number:   P 589
Section Number:   ΣΤ' 86
Title:   Moldmade Bowl
Category:   Pottery
Description:   Mended from several fragments; about one-third of rim missing in two parts.
Medallion: Medusa head. Medallion surrounded by triple wreath of short leaves.
Figured band: alternate pairs of rearing goats and flying figures holding krater; the band is supplemented by small winged figures(?) and by birds sitting on the tips of the leaves below.
Above the figured band, a double ornamented band: interlocking hearts, surmounted by a row of palmettes. Scraped groove under rim.
Attic clay. Good glaze, slightly metallic, somewhat peeled. Bowl seems to have slipped in the mould, so that pattern is obscured by doubling.
