Description: | One side, with all of base and part of wall and rim, missing; restored in plaster. Eggy body; short neck; heavy projecting rim, flat on top and with vertical face. Around the body three groups of two heavy ribs, one at base of neck, one just below shoulder and one around lower body. Black glaze all over except on rim; uneven and somewhat peeled. Inside unglazed except just below lip. ADDENDA In 1947 found disintegrated into many fragments; put in deep tray - HP (SR). Restored in plaster (1959). | |
