Description: | The edge of the vase is preserved. Close to the edge, on the exterior, is the head of a woman, facing right. She is wearing a veil or himation drawn up over the back of her head; beneath it her hair curls loosely. Eye in profile, nose long and rather pointed; lips and chin heavy. Careful work with good relief lines; hair indicated with dilute glaze. On the inside, black glaze with a reserved stripe. The glaze is entirely worn off the edge of the rim. Attic clay; black glaze much chipped. | |
