Title: | Red Figure Pyxis Lid Fragment (Type II ?)
Description: | A woman left, in front of her a wool basket; behind, an uncertain object. Her right hand is raised toward her forehead; in her left she holds a string of beads. Her chiton has a white yoke and a white stripe down the centre of the front; two rosettes ornament the skirt. She wears earrings, hair-ornament (damaged), and a bead bracelet around her upper right arm and necklace. Partial relief contours. White, with yellow over-painting, for wool-basket and ornaments. A bit of moulded ring remains around the knob; whether it had ring or knob is uncertain. None of the rim is preserved; it seems probably to have been the down-turned type (?); but type III is possible.
