Title:   Stele Fragment with Loutrophoros Relief: Inscribed

Description:   Shaft of Akanthos stele preserved, top broken away.
Claw chisel finish at sides. Back rough-picked. A hole pierces the stone and is lined with lead. It is centered just below the foot of the loutrophoros relief.
Two male figures in shallow relief are placed on the body of the loutrophoros relief. At the right stands a beardless male fi gure, Pamphilos, who clasps the hand of a seated male figure, Kallias. Two eight-petaled rosettes are placed on the stele proper above the loutrophoros.
One line of inscription is placed at the top of the stele, the other under the two rosettes: IG 10305.
Fine grained white marble with mica.
Context:   Among sepulchral marbles in garden west of Hephaisteion.
