Title:   Funerary Griffin Fragment

Description:   Head, legs, and tail broken away.
A griffin stands with the wing on the proper right side folded along the flank. The proper left wing is erect with undivided feathers carved. The lines of the snaky neck are preserved on the base of the neck that remains. Haunches lean and muscular.
Fine grained white marble with mica.
Context:   Among sepulchral marbles in garden west of Hephaisteion.
