Description: | Over life-size, broken away at neck; nose and chin badly broken; mouth and ears slightly. Minor fractures. Hair parted at center and falls down behind as if held in net. On top of the head the marble rises where part of the headdress has been broken away (0.08m. x 0.16m.). Rather coarse work. Arrangement of hair at back similar to late Roman figurines: T 789 (Ο 511) provides a close comparison. Pentelic marble. ADDENDA Athens NM 648 seems to be a duplicate. For the type cf.
