Title:   Stamped Amphora Handle: Thasian

Description:   Broad handle with small upper part preserved and nearly all of lower part.
Micaceous red clay, buff at core and surface. Down the side a straggling line of brown glaze with curious brush strokes.
Shallow dim impression, apparently about square, with bearded head in profile right. Pronounced features, so probably satyr. Top of head as on the Thasian seal in Dumont (1872), pl. VII, 14.
