APC Image: AK 1016Fragments of a white ground kylix. I. Seated figure (Warrior? Athene?): on the exterior: upper zone, woman hastening to left; lower zone, Kosmos. In this photograph the interior of the cup is shown. The left fragment is the same as AK 1013 (Left). By combining it with the fragment on the right {Acropolis II 431a}. Pease reconstructs the interior of the cup as follows: a figure seated to the left with a fold of the drapery falling down the back of the stool and with the Boeotian shield and the Corinthian helmet at the right as the figure's stacked arms. Ca. 510-500 B.C. Langlotz tentatively suggests the Sosias painter as the author of {431}. The artist has much in common with the Sosias painter, but the cup can hardly be by the maker of the Berlin kylix.
