In the new trench at ΟΒ-ΟΣΤ/93-100 we began with Basket #1. [Finds stamp.]
In this fill we found an architectural fragment with red stucco. We also struck Wall #17, which appears to be a southern return of Wall #4; It runs south from the south face of Wall #4 at ΟΔ-ΟΕ/94-97. Over the whole extent of area ΟΒ-ΟΣΤ/100-93 is a layer of ash overlain with tile and debris and resting on soft fill; This burned strosis was discovered further to the east at +86.189 on April 24, at ΟΣΤ-ΟΘ/99-96. The surface discovered today has its greatest elevation at +86.184. In both cases the layer of black ash was cut through by Wall #4; Strosis +86.184 is also cut through by Wall #17.
May 3 (p. 68)
In the new trench at ΟΒ-ΟΣΤ/100-93 we removed the remaining fill above the layer of ash at +86.184, continuing with Basket #1 of May 2. [Finds stamp.]
Using Basket #2 we began digging below this level.
