Notes: | G VII From 1.75-1.90 there is brown earth and very little pottery. At 1.90 is a whitish strosis like clay ca. 0.02 thick. Below this is red earth again with a considerable amount of carbonized vegetable matter (doesn’t look like ashes). Not a great many fragments. They seem to be Urfirnis. [p. 348] G VII 1.75-2.05 Plain black Urfirnis still persists thin black or black brown paint 15 to 20 sherds (5 belong together and join "wash" type) Plain red Urfirnis total 8 sherds Plain buff sherds. Ca. 15. A few are thin and highly polished. Buff yellow buff and green buff. Coarse sherds A fair number from cooking pots etc. 25 sherds Obsidian 1 piece [MN: 63 / 159] [NB 85, p. 58, CWB:] G VII 1.75-2.05 Urfirnis Red surfaced like preceding 8 sherds Black surfaced 16 sherds Black brown wash 2 sherds. One is part of a wide bowl (in 5 pieces) with [p. 59] an almost transparent brownish varnish There are 15 plain buff sherds 3 or 4 well polished. 1 especially is highly burnished Also 25 coarse sherds chiefly unpainted red.
