Notes: | In angle where "Beirut pottery" was found - or rather exactly at point (k) page 45 we found a nest of sherds of 2 or 3 pots one is a coarse cooking vessel - one a rather good, painted Mycenaean large bowl? many sherds look fairly good style decoration but in bad condition paint has come off and clay very fragile. [Nakassis: Myc bowl = CP 319] [NB 84, p. 73] Beirut Section. I and II dug previously. I am digging a little here to see what may turn up. I and II gave promise of producing fine sherds. [Nakassis: level III on p. 73 (B 84) starts at 0.60 below ground level. This basket is below NB 84 B 51, which goes down to 0.55 below ground level.] | |
