Stratum:   Fill south of wall 291, W of 412,50 E - medium brown sandy silt with 5% pebbles and cobbles, plaster, tile
Notes:   We began to lower the fill on the other half of the arbitrary line 412,50 E while the workmen were idle from the delicate work necessary to the E.
We are taking several passes in one basket here since we expect the fill to match that on the E. The basket will remain open between work times but care will be taken to avoid contamination of the baskets dug on the E.
On the W, a few blocks surfaced that seem to be an extention of wall 289 (NB 977 p. 19 ff.)
There is a reddish patch of soil in the SW corner of the basket, and a blackish patch just E of that. Further definition is needed before basket change.
An unguentarium and astragalos surfaced 1.5m s of fragment column.
This basket continues after the end of Session I.
