Stratum:   Foundation trench for wall 289. Soil is reddish brown soil, light to medium sandy clay, 30% pebbles, 40% cobbles, loose.
Notes:   B 80 is the foundation trench east and adjacent to wall 289. This continues B 75. Small, sparse flecks of charcoal. Chunks of clay are mixed in the soil in the end of the trench. The trench reveals soil under the north limestone ashlar of wall 289 to the north of this basket. The soil under the stone is of similar quality but maybe a little darker and more compact. Found iron and bone. See top plan pg. 169.
