Stratum:   Removal of soil towards the center of the trench and to the south of the millstone.
Notes:   This basket is the removal of the soil towards the center of the trench, to the south of the millstone. A concentration of roof tiles was found in this area in association with an increased concentration of pebbles (30%). The soil does not appear to be so compacted in comparison to other parts of the trench, and it contains some small roots. Moving from west to east in the area marked in the top plan as B13, the concentration of pebbles increased to about 45% and cobbles 10%. Also a series of large cobbles was uncovered within B13 that might be part of a wall with orientation southeast to northwest.
