Stratum:   Cistern fill
Notes:   The matrix of this basket is greyey brown clayey silt with carbon and clay inclusions. The deposit to be removed in B 72 formed the bottom layer of B 68, 69, 70, 71, extending from the NW corner of the E part of the cistern down to the N wall of the cistern. The deposit also seems to be going underneath the cracked lintel of the support beam. The deposit is producing a fair amount of pottery. Due to the amount of carbon, 100% of the deposit has been reserved for water sieving. In both the N and S ends this deposit was sitting on the floor of the cistern though in the center a deposit of light grey clay was revealed.
