Stratum:   Foundation trench to the west of Wall 287. The stratum is dark yellowish brown silty clay with 20% pebbles and 30% cobbles, loose.
Notes:   B 14 is the removal of looser soil, which defines the edge of Pit 2006-01. This basket contained some very large cobbles as well as a large flatish stone, which may have had a relationship to Wall 289. While digging B 14 we realized that it goes underneath the whiter clayish soil between B 14 and Wall 289. Therefore, that patch is later than B 14. So we finished B 14 even though the actual layer goes deeper so we can begin excavating the whitish clay as B 15. We sieved 80% and reserved 20% for the water-sieve. See pg. 22 for top plan.
