| Stratum: | Pit fill. The stratum is dark brownish brown silty clay with 5% cobbles and 25% pebbles, compactish. | |
| Notes: | B 19 is probably the first/earliest fill of Pit 2006-01. The soil is harder than B 17 but still moderately loose. We continued to get patches of carbon and some ash. We stopped removing B 19 when patches of reddish pebbly sterile soil cropped up and because of how close we were to the scarp of Pit 2005-01, we were afraid it may crumble. So there are still patches of B 19 left mottled with the red pebbly sterile soil. Found bronze, glass, bone and iron. See pg. 32 for top plan. | |
