Stratum:   Pit Fill. Medium yellowish brown silty sandy clay with 25% cobbles and very few pebbles, firm to compact.
Notes:   B 9 is the removal of the clayish layer which B 7 both covers and probably also goes under. B 9 is so far unique because of its clay content but also because it has some very large cobbles as well as the best pot sherds we have so far uncovered. It also contained a lot of bronze and some pieces of mudbrick. We are sieving 4/5 of the basket and reserving 1/5 for water-sieving. We stopped removing B 9 when the pit became dangerous to excavate because of how much it slopes towards Pit 2005-01. I do not feel that we finished excavating B 9. Found bronze and iron. See pg. 15 for top plan.
