Stratum:   fill of bothros, light brownish brown, very soft, 5% small-medium pebbles, well sorted fine sand
Notes:   B70 is for the removal of the large block to the W of the pipe trench and the N of the tile feature. The earth immediately below the block was extremely soft, and we quickly came upon the tops of several pieces of worked stone and larged tile frags., which are directly adjacent to and should be associated with the tile feature; these form a rough semicircle open to the E (where the pipe trench intersects). The earth inside the semicircle is the same soft earth as above it. The large block is plastered on 1 long and 1 short side. Block max. dim.: .14 X .51 X .93m..
