Stratum:   Pile of flat-lying rubble. Loose reddish brown fill among 90% flat lying tiles, some cobbles
Notes:   We are removing a pile of tiles and a few cobbles revealed by the ashy fill in B 58. It may be a southern extension to the hearth, but the stones are sitting on a flat surface exposed by B59 and do not continue down. Perhaps the ash of B 58 was simply redeposited from the hearth proper. It seems possible the hearth functioned at the time of the surface this debris rested upon, based on the appearance that the debris rested up against the stones of the hearth (similar to the debris of B 56). It may be B 56 & 63 are all rubble piled against the hearth at once over the surface exposed by B 59.
