Notes:   The matrix of this basket is reddish brown sandy silt weakly cemented. B2 is the removal of a deposit overlying the continuation of the Roman pit dug in NB976 B66, but cut into the surrounding matrix to the W of the pit. The basket came down on a greyey brown sandy silt layer that appears to be the same as the matrix into which the deposit was cut. Some flecks of carbon were noted in the deposit.
