| Notes: | The matrix of this basket is medium brown clayey silt, compact, with 2-5% pebble inclusions. B37 is the excavation of what was thought to be a clay floor in B33. On the last pass of B35 there were some remaining roof tile fragments in a more compacted layer which also seemed to continue underneath the hypothetical clay floor. For this reason excavation proceeded in this area in order to investigate the extent of the roof tile fragment layer. After a couple of small passes, what appears to be the upper surface of a small block was uncovered in the E half of the area of B37, while in the W part a depression was noted that created an empty space that went for at least 0.25m below the level of the partially exposed stone/block and underneath the N scarp of B31. | |
