Notes:   The matrix of this basket is dark reddish brown sandy silt, compact to loose with 10% pebble inclusions. B41 is to the W of the two blocks and extends to the S all the way to the foundation trench of W215. It is distinguished from the rest of the bottom layer of B31 by its softer soil which has a reddish brown color. The basket produced a lot of pottery (half a zembil), which had some late 3rd century AD shards in it, as well as large quantities of sea shells (1 box). It was decided to stop when it was determined that the soft soil which formed the bottom of the S half of B41 went underneath the scarp to the W of B41.
