Area:   Panaghia north
Category:   Basket/zembil

Context:   50

Date:   2006/06/23
Stratum:   Soil in course of W287. Soil is medium brownish brown sandy clay, with 20% pebbles, 15% cobbles, compact.
Notes:   B50 is a continuation of B48. We have returned to this area (a patch of soil that seems to have robbed a course out of W287) to determine if we have the bottom of such a robbing activity. We may have dug this out of order with B49 being cut into by B50. Moreover, this patch is just south of W270 where the broken colum is placed in the wall course. The hole here at the intersection of the two walls may be significant. W e are finding a number of tiles in this basket.
However, we have come down on a rubble layer that appears to be the bottom foundation course of W290 and Bill sees a soil change to the south so we will dig that portion separately.
We find wall plaster.
Top plan on p. 85.
