Stratum:   Possible rough tile surface. Light brownish brown. Coarse grained weakly cemented. 20% inclusions emdium pebbles to cobbles. Silty sand.
Notes:   Basket 4 was defined as an area directly east of wall 290, where a possible rough surface was revealed at the bottom of basket 3. 1/4 of a zembil of roof tiles were collected in this basket which is significantly less than the amount found in the tile sloping surface in basket 3. It is difficult to state with certainty that basket 4 removed another rough surface but there were a number of sherds and roof tiles found horizontally. If this really was a surface it was smaller than that in basket 3 and it had significantly fewer inclusions. At the end of basket 4, a small cluster of tiles and pottery sherds were observed in the central area of the basket. It is unclear whether this is fill or the remnants of another surface.
