Area:   Panaghia north

Date:   2007/05/03
Stratum:   Robbing trench, very dark, yellowish-brown, loose, 20% inclusions, poorly sorted, pebbles and cobbles
Notes:   Continued excavation of the robbing trench first uncovered in basket 25. This basket revealed a fair amount of pottery as well as a fragment of iron slag and a possible bone pin. The sieve produced numerous fragments of bone, a small figurine, and what may be a partial coin. We stopped the basket when we came across another course of stones beneath W 297. We also stopped the basket to the west because we longer had a clear edge for the robbing trench. We will remove this area to the west as basket 29.
