Stratum:   Large sherds and tiles (~20%), very little/sparse inclusions otherwise
Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is dark brownish white. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is poorly sorted. It is silty clay.
Notes:   After fully exposing the rim of the hearth, we then excavated its fill. There were a few large sherds and tile fragments, but no small finds. We took a flotation sample and dry sieved everything else. Closed context after clearing out the bottom of the hearth.
Context Pottery:   Coarseware. matt-painted, pitcher. 1 rim. 1 handle. 70 bodysherds. (saved to lot) .
