Description:   The context shape in plan is circular. The top break of the cut is gradual. The sides of the cut are concave. The break at the base of the cut is not perceptible. The base of the cut is concave.
Notes:   1216 is a small (20 cm x 20 cm) cut into floor 1215, which was made in order to insert an upside down late Classical stewpot. The cut was only c.5 cm deep and therefore only accomodated the rim of the vessel. Although the original preservation of the stewpot at the time of its deposit in unknown due to later robbing, perhaps a hole had been inserted into the base of the pot in order to receive libations.
