Description:   Top slope of the context is moderate down to the E. The soil color is dark greyish red. The soil compaction is compact. The soil is poorly sorted. It is clayey sand.
Notes:   Thanassis initially identified this area as a black fill, exposed by 1227, around the edge of the semicircular cut area excavated as contexts 1177 and 1202. However, when he started excavating it, it became clear that this was just a thin and narrow strip of dump fill, probably the remains of 1227, which we didn't fully remove with its proper deposit. This context exposed the same sloping, hard packed layer as that exposed in the northwest half of 1227.
