Description:   Top slope of the context is slight down to the N. The soil color is dark yellowish brown. The soil compaction is loose. The soil is poorly sorted. It is silty sand.
Notes:   Context 237 consisted of soil with visible inclusions of cobbles and pebbles. Its semi-circular shape and location, which was in line with the orange grove, led us to believe that it was a tree pit. After removal of context 237, a clay pipe, running approximately north-south, is revealed. The same pipe is visible in the area south of our excavation area and in the scarp that forms the northern limit of our excavation area. In the scarp that remains after removal of context 237, tiles and cobbles are visible to the north, directly above the clay pipe. The east and west scarps only appear to contain soil and a few small pebbles. The area of cobbles and tiles visible in the scarp most likely belong to the cutting for the laying of the pipe. It is possible that the tree pit cut into the fill from the laying of the pipe because the area of cobbles and tils was exposed in the scarp of the pit during excavation and the pipe was revealed at the bottom of the cut for the tree pit.
