Stratum:   inclusions: 30% small to large pebbles with occasional cobbles, mostly subrounded spherical to tabular; rare yellow clay & dark red mudbrick patches; few small to large chunks of white cement; 5% or less large tiles; rare small to large carbon chunks
Description:   Top slope of the context is slight down to the E. The soil color is mixed. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is moderately sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   We are now digging in the eastern half of the "corridor" north of Room E. The soil in this context is mixed. In the west, it is light yellowish brown, and it is light brownish red to the east.
We found a small piece of floor that consisted of medium-sized smooth round pebbles cemented together. We thought the floor piece was notable because it differs from the cement floors preserved in Room E & F, but we are not finding more.
This context overlies the area with large tile inclusions to its southwest. The part of this context immediately north of the tiles has some carbon pieces and ashy patches. Under this same ashy area, we are reaching the context with a high concentration of tiles. The soil with numerous tiles is more red than the light yellowish brown portion of the current context, which overlies the tile filled area. The boundary between contexts is clear here.
Some chunks of carbon are also appearing near the east wall of the "corridor," and removal of this context has revealed of this context has revealed some large tile inclusions here as well.
In the east central area, we are coming down on red soil with clay and carbon inclusions similar to the red in this context. However, the tile filled area to the west clearly cuts this red, so we are stopping. The boundary between contexts is diffuse here.
A large root crosses the far eastern side of this context.
We found a piece of waterproof cement from the corner of a tub.
We have discovered a partial terracotta horse and rider figurine, but the rider is missing.
This context contained 11 tiles weighing 5.6kg.
