Stratum:   Tile, pottery. Angular tabular, fine to large pebbles. Also angular spherical rounded platy, subrounded spherical cobble.s 60%
Description:   Top slope of the context is moderate down to the N. The soil color is dark reddish brown. The soil compaction is loose. The soil is poorly sorted. It is silty sand.
Notes:   We start taking context 5311 which is the dumped fill of debris north of wall 5215, south of wall 5216, west of wall 5218 and e of 5217. This thick stratum seems to come down on a relatively level surface as could be seen in the scarp before digging. The soil contains flecks of charcoal in this context. We find many huge tiles; a large piece of marble revetment., a mosaic fragment. Some root growth. The soil below is less level than expected. It seems to rise in the south. There is a moderate incline to the soil below at the south.
Tile 805 sherds, 134.7 kg.
We think that this is fill for leveling.
